About Smex (Alex Weir)
Smex is an artist & illustrator based in Glasgow. His practice explores the significance of everyday life, celebrating ideas of community, connection and identity through drawing, painting, printmaking and bookmaking. With humorous and playful imagery, Smex constantly reacts to current events and situations, both personal and on a wider scale, often presenting working outcomes in participatory and engaging installations combining multiple mediums and artforms.
